Japanese retailer, Fast Retailing Company, has issued its sales figures for August 2002. The firm's year-on-year sales declined by 30, compared with 40 in July. Analysts believe that the company's sales decline will continue for some months. Fast Retailing's predicted operating profit of Y59.4bn for the 12 months to August is appearing increasingly optimistic. On 3 September, Fast Retailing's share price fell by 2.4, to Y3,310, before the sales figures were released. The company operates the discount Uniqlo chain.
