ASX adds "best practice" to listing rules.

Australasian Business Intelligence, September, 2002

Sep 20, 2002 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)

The Australian Stock Exchange is moving to mandate best practice when it comes to corporate governance. The proposed changes to listing rules means companies will be forced to identify where they do not follow best practice and explain why. The move comes as the Australian Government unveiled its proposals for improving corporate disclosure and the quality of audits. These include having independent audit committees for the top 500 listed companies and accounting for share options in the profit and loss statements by 2004.
