New "faulty towers" rules.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2002
Oct 10, 2002 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX)
The Australian Communications Authority has introduced new mobile telephone tower regulations. A code of rules for these structures was developed by the entities owning the four major mobile telephone networks in Australia, Telstra, Singtel Optus, Vodafone and Hutchison Telecommunications. The "Deployment of Radiocommunications Infrastructure Code" outlines the procedures to be followed when selecting sites for mobile telephone towers. Critics say the code is too late, as some towers have been established for 10 years.
