Increased security in Canberra following the terrorist attack in Indonesia on 12 October 2002 appears to be selective. While security at the vehicle parks of both the Australian Taxation Office and Country Energy in Canberra is stringent, underground parking at Parliament House is far more relaxed, with no security checks. However, Australian Federal Members of Parliament have expressed concern at the security anomaly, with control gates likely to be installed. Parliament House is now under close surveillance with a new security review under way.
