According to a new survey, the growth rate of executive remuneration packages in Australasia was halved in 2002. A survey of 54 of the top 100 companies in Australia and New Zealand, conducted by the Hay Group and released in mid-October 2002, shows that total CEO remuneration, including base salary and other incentives, increased by only 9.4 in 2002, compared to 18.5 in 2001. Senior executive pay packages rose by 8.9, compared to 16.4 previously. Hay Group senior consultant, Kim Neuhold, said the results of the survey showed that companies were becoming serious about linking executive pay to company performance.
