Quantum computers are seen as the next major development in computer science. They attempt to exploit the uncertainty principle that supports the theory of quantum mechanics, and which has the potential to create computers with unlimited mathematical power. Andrew Dzurak, located at the Centre for Quantum Computer Technology at the University of New South Wales campus, claims Australia is one of the leaders when it comes to developing quantum computers. He says that successful development of such computers is as much an engineering challenge as it is a physics challenge.
