Australian Federal Police sources have confirmed Darwin as a possible terrorism target. They say captured al Qaeda terrorist Omar al-Faruq named Darwin as a potential target under interrogation by United States intelligence forces. A spokeswoman for Attorney-General Daryl Williams said no specific credible threats to Australia had been received, but that security remained at a heightened level.
