Paid Internet search advertising is set to become more significant in Australia. In late 2002, this was forecast by Niki Scevak, of Jupiter Research. The group believes that over $A10 million will be spent on search engines in Australia by the close of 2002. Scevak indicated that finance, travel and online services have been at the forefront of paid search. She believes that paid search engine advertising will become a "pillar" of the business of both Ninemsn and Yahoo! Scevak added that the entrance of Google into the Australian market has the increased opportunities for paid search.
