Rodney Adler was 29 when he took over at FAI Insurances after the death of his father, Larry, in 1988. After earning the title "Rocket Rodney", he has crash-landed, including being found guilty of Corporations Act civil breaches and now facing criminal charges laid by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission. After leaving Cranbrook School, where he befriended Paul Brown, who later helped him move money about inside FAI's controversial investment, Home Security International, he completed a bachelor of commerce degree at the University of New South Wales and a master of economics at Macquarie University.
