A corporate high-flyer in Australia has been fined over his drug use and given a good behaviour bond. On 24 December 2002, David Beaconsfield was fined $A1,500 for importing both cocaine and the human growth hormone somatropin. Beaconsfield now works as an investment banker based in New York. He was arrested on suspicion of drug use at Melbourne Airport on 21 December 2002. A sniffer dog alerted customs officers to the fact that there were drugs in his luggage.
