Boral chief executive builds up towards $3m salary.

Boral chief executive officer Rod Pearse received $A2.8 million in 2001-02, the annual report reveals. The total represented a 21 per cent pay increase from the $A2.3 million he was paid in 2000-01. Writing in the annual report, Pearse said the Australian building materials group expects underlying profit performance in the year ending 30 June 2003 to exceed the after-tax profit of $A192.4 million in 2001-02. The outlook for the US housing market in 2003 was unclear, with softer demand expected.
