The Federal Court of Australia has ruled in favour of the Australian Taxation Office in an action involving Pratt Holdings. On 10 January 2003 it ordered the holding company of Richard Pratt, head of Australia's largest cardboard packaging group, to hand over some of the 71 documents in dispute. The documents were sought during a 1999 tax audit of the Pratt Group. Pratt, in turn, had claimed that they were legally privileged. A representative of Pratt Holdings said the decision may be appealed.
