Only three Australian companies belong to the defence sector. They are Metal Storm, Australian Defence Industry and Tenix. However, many other companies have contracts with the Australia's Department of Defence. The department's Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group spent $A1.3 billion in 2001-02 on maintenance of facilities, communication and transport. The Defence Materiel Organisation has a budget of $A3.6 billion for 2002-2003.
