Coalition donors top Labor by $1m.

New Australian figures have shown that the Western Australian (WA) Coalition parties received more donations than the WA Australian Labor Party in 2001-02. Figures released by the Australia Electoral Commission indicate that the Liberal Party of WA received $A4.22m in donations throughout 2001-02 and WA's National Party got $A757,000 over the same period. However, the WA branch of the Australian Labor Party raised only $A2.67m in donations in 2001-02, almost $A1m less than the WA coalition. Some of the biggest political donors included Westfield Group, Croissy, Coca-Cola Amatil and Wesfarmers.
