EMC packs new storage system.

Symmetrix Direct Matrix Architecture is a new computer storage system from EMC. It has a number of innovative features, including redundant components, a direct data pathway and compatibility with EMC Enginuity software. EMC is the third most influential company in the global storage market, with Hewlett-Packard and IBM filling the top two spots. CEO of EMC, Joe Tucci, says that the new system should create greater returns for customers. It is understood that Hitachi is already working on a rival system.
