Colonial adjusts for need to vary investment style.

Australia's Colonial First State (CFS) is developing a more diverse business model and investment style. In the past, CFS was close to a pure investment house, but such an approach is increasingly seen as out-moded, and the bank is now broadening its product offerings. CFS now runs a master trust, FirstChoice, and has an alliance with new boutique fund manager, 452 Capital. In addition to its in-house core neutral-style offerings, CFS also has a number of growth funds available and is planning to extend its range of hedge funds and offer an added number of products through external fund managers.
