War protesters deface websites.
Australasian Business Intelligence, March, 2003

Demonstrations against the war in Iraq could assume a new form on the Internet, experts warn. The warning comes from the director of the Internet Security Systems X-Force team, Chris Rouland. He said that recently exposed server vulnerabilities could be exploited by "hacktivists" - activist computer hackers - to create a "worm" spreading their anti-war message. Australia's computer emergency response team, AusCERT, agreed with the assessment. Rouland said it was important to realise such an attack would not be terrorist in nature, as it would not have harm as its intent, merely disruption.
