Power workers may be linked to oil spill.

In late March 2003, Santos excavators are "working around the clock" to discover the source of an oil leak. A state of emergency was called on 18 March, after a pipe in the Queenland suburb of Lytton ruptured, releasing oil into the surrounding area. The state of emergency has since been called off and business in the area has resumed operation. However, it is believed that it will take Santos months to return the nearby wetlands to normal. Two Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) investigators have been appointed to determine the cause of the incident.
