Australasian Business Intelligence, March, 2003
Mar 20, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
Corporate practices will be scrutinised at the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia conference on 24 March 2003. Of key interest will be the findings of a survey, conducted jointly by the institute and RMIT University, on the role of internal auditing, corporate governance and risk management. According to the study, Australian organisations recognise that risk management and assessment are important, but they invest little in the function. Respondents spent an average of 8.8 of their time on it, compared with 21 of their time spent on internal control evaluations.
