Dockers recruit Queen's man for top post.

Western Australian (WA) Governor Lieutenant-General has become the new patron of Australian Football team, the Fremantle Dockers. The football club announced the appointment on 27 March 2003. Sanderson said that he would like to see the Fremantle team win a grand final in the national league competition. The Fremantle Dockers have also appointed WA Chief Justice David Malcolm, Syd Corser, Steve Marsh, and club legend Jack Sheedy as vice-patrons. Cameron Schwab, the club's CEO, has confirmed that the Bank of Western Australia and AlintaGas have agreed to sponsorship deals with the club for the 2003 season.
