Conman Foster slaps down watchdog.

Australasian Business Intelligence, March, 2003

Mar 12, 2003 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX)

The saga of Australian businessman Peter Foster is continuing. Foster has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons, both for alleged fraud and for being a "playboy". In March 2003, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission took Foster to the Federal Court in Brisbane, seeking to have the court seize Foster's passport and freeze his assets. A judge of the Federal Court said that he had no power to do this. Foster is due to face another legal case, over an alleged fraud involving diet pills. The ACCC is actively pursuing Foster.
