A University of Queensland Department of Veterinary Pathology lecturer has accepted a sponsorship from a pet food company. Animal nutrition expert, Linda Fleeman, will have her salary fully paid by Nestle Purina PetCare, after the university was unable to provide enough funds to pay for her course. Fleeman approached pet food companies after the department had its funding cut. Unlike sports sponsorships, Fleeman will not be required to wear the company's logo while teaching, nor will she be forced to advertise Nestle Purina PetCare's products while teaching.
