The Australian Opposition is expected to move to amend the Migration Legislation Amendment Bill in the Australian Senate on 6 March 2003. The Opposition wants to push for the removal of all children from high security detention centres. Meanwhile, Australian Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock said some family groups seeking asylum had decided to stay in Port Hedland despite being offered township accommodation at Woomera.
