How I won the war.
Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2003
Apr 11, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
News Corporation's Fox News and British newspapers echoed Rupert Murdoch's public support for war in Iraq. The chairman has extended his media power. Subject to antitrust approval, News Corporation won control of US satellite television giant DirecTV, through Hughes Electronics, for $US6.6 billion ($A10.9 billion) on 10 April 2003. Murdoch's support for the war may help him gain the political ear he needs as cross-media ownership laws are debated in Australia, Britain and the US.
