Survey turns up surprises.

A survey of chief financial officers (CFOs) in Australasia has proved interesting. The survey was undertaken by Deloitte Consulting, to see how the CFOs of big companies in Australia and New Zealand are facing new challenges. The extensive survey was completed by 158 CFOs. The survey looked at the new emphasis on corporate governance and compliance. The corporate sector faces new regulatory pressures in the US and changes to corporation law in Australia. The Australian Stock Exchange's Corporate Governance Council has also unveiled its new guidelines. The surprising findings include the fact that 47 of CFOs say that recent regulatory reforms have "not had a big effect" on the finance function. Some 51 believe that the new...
