Most firms have a gut feeling supply chain software's a waste.

Supply chain software is not being fully utilised. A survey of US companies by Capital Consulting & Management found that less than 20 per cent of companies felt that the technology was financially justified. The software represented an investment of $US15 billion ($A25.22 billion) over three years. The survey revealed that employees were not using the systems competently. They also still tended to trust their own judgement, instead of using the technology. Senior management were particularly ignorant about the operation of the systems.
