Channel Seven snares Leckie.

Shares in Australian media group, the Seven Network, rose nearly four per cent on 3 April 2003. The rise came after the company announced that it had hired the former head of rival Nine Network Australia, David Leckie. Leckie's appointment brings to five the number of former Nine Network executives Seven has hired in 2003. While the appointment of Leckie is expected to heighten the ratings struggle between Seven and Nine, insiders suggest that Leckie's priority is to improve Seven's profits rather than its ratings. Seven has not commented on whether Leckie will have a salary similar to the $A1.7m package he earned at Nine.
