Australian businesses have flocked to broadband Internet systems. IDC has estimated that some 1.6 million subscribers will use broadband Internet in Australia by 2007. In early 2003, IDC noted that key concerns for Australian business are the quality of the service, the quality of the network and the level of customer service. Broadband Internet provision in Australia is dominated by Telstra, which has a 60 market share. Singtel Optus has an 8.2 share, while AAPT has 5.6. Businesses found that lines leased from providers provide the most reliable service. Consumers have not taken to options such as satellite and cable Internet. Satellite broadband is found to be relatively expensive and unreliable.
