Telecommunications operators should not ignore sex-oriented services. Nick White, the head of the value-added services team at Virgin Mobile, says that sex has always been a great cash generator. Alan Reiter, president of the US consultancy Wireless Internet and Mobile Computing, says that many telecommunications companies are working on deals with such publishing businesses as Playboy Enterprises and Private Media Group but they will not admit it. British research firm Visiongain estimates that pornography can generate as much as EUR3.7 billion in revenues for telecommunications companies by 2006.
