No health product is safe, say doctors.

Australian pharmacologists have warned consumers against taking health supplements with dubious contents. Speaking after the recall of Pan Pharmaceuticals' products, the professor of clinical pharmacology at the University of New South Wales, Richard Day, said "anything can happen". He said serious consequences can follow when quality control processes in the manufacture of such products are not perfect. University of Sydney pharmacologist, Paul Seale, gives an example of Vitamin D. He said excessive amounts cause potentially dangerous calcium build-up in the kidneys.
