Pivot shareholders embrace Orica takeover.

Pivot shareholders overwhelmingly supported Orica's takeover proposal at a Melbourne meeting on 29 April 2003. Pivot shareholders agreed to hand over 70 of the Australian fertiliser group to chemicals giant, Orica. The takeover involves Pivot buying the Incitec fertiliser assets from Orica. Under the proposal, Pivot will also change its name to Incitec Pivot. The merger proposal had already been approved by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission. Orica shares closed $A0.14 higher at $A9.68 following the decision to merge.
