ASX offers boardrooms simple guide for transparency.

After the collapse of HIH and One.Tel, Australian shareholders are demanding more transparency from listed companies. The Australian Stock Exchange's Corporate Governance Council has drafted a guide for boards to follow to ensure that they are being upfront with smaller shareholders. Although some of the requirements in the report are mandatory, it is really a general guide for companies to follow. The formation of the Council follows calls for listed companies to be more accountable to shareholders.
