Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2003
Apr 30, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
Perth-based AlintaGas raised almost $A200 million in a share deal on the night of 30 April 2003. The funding will go towards sealing a complex transaction with AMP Henderson Global Investors to buy out the Australian energy businesses of US-based partner, Aquila. Macquarie Equities is placing Aquila's 36 million AlintaGas shares with institutions at $A4.50 each. The buy-out still requires United Energy shareholders' endorsement at a meeting in July 2003, which should see United come under the control of AlintaGas and AMP Henderson.
