Wine fund's vital choice.

Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2003

May 29, 2003 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX)

In late July 2003, unit holders will vote on whether to close the International Wine Investment Fund (IWIF). They may decide to allow the fund to spend up to $A250 million, so that it can consolidate four or five wine groups and list them on the Australian Stock Exchange. BRL Hardy was established in a similar manner. Another option is for IWIF to forge an deal with Lion Nathan, which would become a leading shareholder. Other wine companies may follow IWIF's lead if it succeeds in establishing a major new company.
