Call to train older workers.
Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2003
May 08, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
A submission to a Senate committee has called for older Australians to be given access to their superannuation. The Financial Planning Association wants older workers to be able to access their superannuation in order to pay for retraining. According to Peter Hendy, CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI), current training incentives discriminate against older workers. The ACCI wants government to provide an incentive payment to employers who retrain older workers.
