Watson Wyatt pushes 10-year mandates.

Australian fund consultant, Watson Wyatt, is trying to persuade its clients to switch to 10-year mandates. Sean Henagahn, Australian head of research and manager selection at Watson Wyatt , says that there is too much emphasis on short-term performance of funds. Not everyone shares his view. Ken Marshman, managing director of investment consulting at JANA Investment Advisers, says that many funds, with the exception of endowment and charities, are more comfortable with a short-term view.
