Falling desktop computer sales have driven down prices, cutting severely into computer makers' profits. Global computer makers are turning to innovative design in an attempt to reinvigorate flagging sales. Toshiba is developing a water-cooled laptop range. IBM is working on integrating advanced file recovery software into its products. Hewlett-Packard is working on the greater integration of telephony, multimedia and wireless applications into its products.
