Australian chemical firm Orica may offer its outsourcing contract to the market when the one with Atos Origin expires. Atos Origin won the five-year $A35 million contract in 1999 and it has an expiration date of July 2004. An Orica spokesman has described present talks as "testing the market". It is known that a decision is expected by 31 December 2003 to allow for a six-month "hand over" period. Dutch-based Atos Origin specialises in consultancy, outsourcing and systems integration. In December 2002 it secured a contract with Airservices Australia.
