A cross-promotional deal has been signed by Australia's Ten Network and John Fairfax Holdings. Under the deal, which was announced on 26 June 2003, Ten will broadcast a two-minute business news segment each week night under the brand of "The Australian Financial Review", a business newspaper published by Fairfax. However, branding consultancy firm, Interbrand, considers the move by the two media companies as unusual, given that the newspaper targets an older, wealthier demographic, while Ten targets younger audiences.
