ACI may match Amcor with extra 200 million glass wine bottles.

Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2003

Jun 20, 2003 (Packaging - ABIX via COMTEX)

ACI Glass Packaging's CEO has questioned the viability of rival Amcor's plans to upgrade its South Australian plant. Peter Robinson says ACI Glass Packaging can expand its wine bottle production capacity by 200 million bottles per year faster and at a lower cost. Even if Australian wine export growth increases, the additional 400 million bottles in production capacity between the two players would substantially exceed demand. Neither company is keen to undermine bottle prices.
