NSW Education is ready to desert OASIS system.

The New South Wales Department of Education has placed a request with the Treasury to fund a new school management system. The ageing Office Administration & School Information System (OASIS) the department currently runs was installed in the late 1980s for $A30m, and relies heavily on proprietary technology. The system replacement has been mooted for some time, but finding funding for such an ambitious undertaking has proved difficult for the Education Department.
