NEC to provide faster, cheaper ASICs.

NEC Electronics has released its latest Instant Silicon Solution Platform (ISSP) circuit board technology. The technology provides 500 Mhz clock speeds, configurable memory and over 4 million Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). NEC's embedded design philosophy enables users to customise designs. High-speed computing is enabled through a 10 gigabyte per second SerDes interface, and a 3 gigabyte per second ATA interface. The ISSP is suitable to be used in broadband communications, storage systems and mobile computing technology.
