Japanese telecommunications company, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (NTT), has announced a new data transfer technology. According to the company, the new technology is 10 times faster than the currently used methods, at one gigabit a second versus 100 megabits a second. Two hours of video will be downloaded in 30 seconds, instead of seven minutes needed for the task when using the current technology.
