Ken Boundy blames the lack of direct international flights to Adelaide as hurting South Australia's tourism industry. The head of the Australian Tourist Commission (ATC) told the Australian Tourism Exchange in Melbourne that a Qantas-Air New Zealand merger would hopefully create New Zealand-Adelaide flights. Dr Jane Lomax-Smith, South Australia's tourism minister, revealed she was working closely with Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin, Qantas and Emirates to increase the number of inbound flights. Boundy said the ATC was negotiating with the Government for bilateral aviation agreements.
