Wrangle over expat ratio to establish whether Britannia rules the airwaves.

Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2003

A dispute has broken out over the use of narrowband radio broadcasting licences in Australia. The dispute is between GBRadio (Australia) and WorldAudio. GBRadio is an innovative enterprise broadcasting in Melbourne. It takes British content from the Internet, inserts localised advertisements, then broadcasts it over a narrowband AM frequency. WorldAudio is attempting to establish an Australia-wide network that will one day use digital technology. The dispute centres on bureaucratic bungling by the Australian Communications Authority when it sought to transfer radio licences. The matter is to go before the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
