Baby grants for academic mums.

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) will grant women academics returning from childbirth $A10,000. The money will be deposited in a UNSW account, and can be used by the woman for any purpose that furthers her academic career. UNSW deputy vice-chancellor John Ingleson says the UNSW Career Advancement Fund in one initiative among several aimed at assisting women in reaching senior positions at the university. The money will be paid to the female academics each time they have a baby.
