South Korean workers repeat half-day strike.

South Korean automobile workers are striking for improved working conditions. Hyundai Motor Company has lost 380 billion won so far as a result of the stoppages, which have been co-ordinated by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and company unions. A total of 54,000 workers walked off the job on 2 July 2003, with 37,000 more employees following suit on the following day. The strike has the potential to affect foreign investment, according to Marco Gomez, the president of the European Chamber of Commerce in South Korea.
