The Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund (CPHF) has bought the Marriott Hotel in Surfers Paradise for $A60 million. The purchase coincides with the Sunland Group's move to sell its Legends Hotel. CPHF fund manager Selliah Kalyanakumar said the fund still has a close relationship with Marriott, as the chain manages CPHF's assets. The deal was negotiated by Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels' Mike Batchelor and David Gibson. CPHF's past acquisitions include the Brisbane Marriott Hotel, Melbourne's Rockman's Regency Hotel, and Sydney's Renaissance Hotel.
