United Energy votes in favour of Alinta/AMPH bid.

Jul 14, 2003 (The Australian Financial Markets Newsletter - INSTO - ABIX via COMTEX) -- United Energy's investors have voted in favour of selling their shares to Alinta and AMP Henderson. The scheme of arrangement will see US energy giant Aquila sell its holding in United. Alinta and AMP Henderson will buy various energy assets when Aquila leaves the Australian market, in a deal worth some $A950 million ($US627 million) to the US group. Aquila will sell its stakes in United, Multinet Gas and Alinta. United will subsequently be de-listed. Alinta will pay a total of $A210 million for assets including National Power Services, Uecomm and WA Gas Holdings.
