Computer attacks to be monitored.
Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2003
Jul 02, 2003 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX)
The Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT) has launched a national incident reporting program. AusCERT, based at the University of Queensland, hopes to better understand computer fraud, denial of service attacks, and computer hacking. AusCERT's Kathryn Kerr said the team could now analyse new threats and disseminate advice to organisations. The Australian Government has provided $A300,000 to fund the scheme. A national alert program was launched in May 2003 and provides security bulletins by e-mail. Kerr said the program already has several hundred subscribers.
